Gujarat Banaskantha Factory Blast: 21 people lost their lives after a blast in the illegal cracker factory warehouse in Banaskantha, Gujarat. Among them, there were many people from Madhya Pradesh, who had reached that factory, searching for better future and work to run family.
In fact, a warehouse collapsed after a terrible explosion and fire in Industrial Aria near Desa town, about 30 km from Banaskantha district headquarters, in which at least 21 people, including children and women, died. The blast was so severe that some laborers flew away and fell several hundred meters away. Collector Mihir Patel gave this information.
All the deceased were residents of MP
The death of five children and five women in this accident shows that the workers’ families also lived in the premises of the warehouse. All the people who died were residents of Harda and Dewas in Madhya Pradesh. The RCC slab fell in the blast, due to which all the people present there were buried. Even family members living in the same premises died under the slab block.
Three year old children are also among those who died
Innocent people between the ages of 3 to 12 were involved in the children who died. At the same time, 19 to 50 -year -old people were among the elders. Six people, including a three -year -old girl, were injured.
SP Akshayraj Makwana said that these deaths have occurred due to the fall of slabs after the blast. The police is engaged in investigation to find out the reason for the accident. Prima facie it is revealed that illegal firecrackers were being stored in the warehouse.
License was not renewed
At present, the police have registered a case and five teams have been formed to investigate. SIT has also been formed under the leadership of Deputy SP. According to the information received by the police, the warehouse had earlier taken a license to store firecrackers, but did not renew it after 31 December 2024.
After that, when applied for renewal, the administration found that the warehouse did not have proper facilities, due to which the license was held.
CM Mohan Yadav announces compensation
The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh has announced compensation for the families of those killed in the Banaskantha Factory Blast. Posting on X, Mohan Yadav wrote, “Financial assistance of Rs 2-2 lakh will be provided to the families of the deceased in the cracker factory accident at Banaskantha, Gujarat and 50-50 thousand to the injured workers. Our cabinet minister Shri Nagar Singh Chauhan has been sent to the accident site to coordinate the police/administration officials including our cabinet minister Shri Nagar Singh Chauhan. In this hour of crisis, our government is standing with the families of the victims and every help is committed to help the victims.”
