Gujarat Flood: Flood threat in Surat and Vadodara, Narmada and Kim river water levels increased concern

The heavy rains in Surat and Vadodara districts of Gujarat have spoiled the situation. The water level of Narmada and Kim River is facing the risk of floods. The administration has advised people of low -lying areas to be vigilant.

Umrapada and Mangrol taluka in Surat district have been the most affected. In the last 24 hours, Umerpada recorded 8.5 inches and Mangrol recorded 4 inches of rain. Due to heavy rains, the water level of Kim river went above the danger mark.

The river water has entered the Padar area of ​​Mota Borsara village in Mangrol, due to which the road connectivity of many villages has been lost. Due to waterlogging, the local people are facing heavy problems in traffic and everyday activities.

Flood threat deepened in Vadodara district

The rising water level of the Narmada River in Vadodara district has become a cause of concern. After the release of 4.5 lakh cusecs of water from Sardar Sarovar Dam, the danger of floods in the low -lying areas of the river has deepened.

The 92 stairs of Malhar Rao Ghat in Chanod have completely merged into the water. Although the Narmada River has not yet reached the danger mark, the continuous rains have made the situation more serious.

Rain increased difficulties

Heavy rains in Dabhoi in Vadodara district have also increased difficulties. It recorded 5 inches of rain from midnight to seven in the morning. Traffic is disrupted due to waterlogging and many low -lying areas are flooded. The administration has issued a warning and appealed people to visit safe places and take precautions.

Water level crossed 24 feet

Things are also worrying in Bharuch district. Sarpanch Pankaj Patel of Borbhatha Bet village informed that the water level has crossed 24 feet after the release of 5 lakh cusecs of water in the Narmada river. If the water level increases further, there is a possibility of flooding in the surrounding villages.

Meanwhile, rain continues in other parts of South Gujarat. The life of the common man has been affected by the continuous rains. Experts believe that if the intensity of rain does not decrease, then the situation may become more serious in the coming days.
