An incident of stone pelting took place in Kalana village of Sanand taluka of Ahmedabad district after a fight between two groups over old enmity. After the stone pelting on Monday (29 December) night, the situation worsened again on Tuesday (30 December) morning. The police also confiscated the DVR of the cameras installed in the village. With this the police has started searching the village.
‘Why are you looking ahead?’
The police team including SP and Deputy SP reached the village. According to the information received, there is a dispute going on between two groups of youth living in Kalana village of Sanand for some time regarding a post posted on social media. On Monday, a youth from one group was beaten by the youth from the other group, saying, ‘Why are you looking in front?’ After this, people from both the groups gathered and started fighting. Police have registered the complaint.

Security tightened in Kalana village
This morning the situation worsened again and stone pelting started. Different police teams reached Kalana village and brought the situation under control. Kalana village is in Sanand GIDC police station area. Security was tightened in the village and there is peace at present. The people who are suspected are being interrogated. Police said that those involved in this will not be spared. SP said that this matter started with the fight for supremacy on social media and reached the level of stone pelting.
Till now 42 people have been detained- Police
Police said that two bikers came in front of each other. ‘Why did you look at me?’ They had a fight with each other in an ego tussle (fight for supremacy). Someone made a video of that fight. This video reached the groups of both the groups and the controversy increased. Police said that the police arrived only five-seven minutes after the stone pelting. So far 42 people have been detained.
