Actress Sonam Khan may be away from the silver screen now, but she keeps sharing memories of her film world with fans through social media. On Sunday, Sonam recalled the moments spent with Govinda and praised his simplicity and goodness.
Sonam became emotional remembering Govinda
The actress posted a picture with Govinda on her official Instagram account, with which she wrote in the caption, “Govinda often used to tell me, ‘You are exactly like me.’ Maybe because both of our lives started in a very simple way.”
He told that he worked in many films. At that time, Sonam did not have much expertise in dance, but Govinda was like a guru for her. He used to hold Sonam’s hand during the shooting and teach her dance. Sonam told that at that time dance masters did not get time for new artists and they often got irritated.
Used to help when he couldn’t dance
The actress told that at one time she had signed more than 30 films, but due to not knowing how to dance, she found it very difficult. Due to busy schedule, there was no time for rehearsal. In such a situation, Govinda used to come forward to help him every time.
Before every scene, he would teach dance steps to Sonam and encourage her. Sonam described Govinda as ‘the most simple and good-hearted co-actor’ and said, “There is no one else like him.” Sonam and Govinda had worked together in films like ‘Naqab’, ‘Vishwatma’, after which the audience liked their pairing very much.

If we look at the career of the actress, she started with Telugu films in the year 1987. After this, he entered Bollywood in 1988 with Yash Chopra’s film ‘Vijay’. He worked in films like ‘Tridev’, ‘Ajooba’ and ‘Vishwatma’. But the actress got a lot of popularity from the song ‘Tirchi Topi’. However, at the peak of her career, she left the industry in 1991 after marrying director Rajiv Rai.
