How to do Guru Puja at home on Guru Purnima
How to prepare?
- Wake up early in the morning and take a bath and wear clean clothes.
- Clean the place of worship of your house and lay a post or posture there.
- Install the Guru’s idol or picture, light a lamp and light incense sticks.
How to worship Guru?
- In Hinduism, parents have been called the first guru of man. Therefore, first of all, on the day of Guru Purnima, the parents sit in one place and revolve around their pradakshina and touch their feet and seek their blessings.
- Offer kumkum, sandalwood, turmeric, akshat, flowers, sweets on the Guru’s picture.
- Worship Ved Vyas ji and recite chapters of his texts.
- Chant the mantras given by the Guru.
- If there is no Guru, then worship Shiva ji and after offering all the materials, chant Om Gurubhyo Namah Mantra.
- On the day of Guru Purnima, you can offer clothes, Paduka or things that come in his work. On meeting the Guru, give them these things.
- Remember the teachings of the Guru and take a pledge to walk on them
- According to your power, donate a yellow object or meeting related to education to the needy.
