Amidst the ongoing tension in West Asia, hundreds of travelers stranded in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia have returned to India. Emotional scenes were witnessed at Gujarat’s Ahmedabad airport, where many passengers cried and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government for ensuring their safe return.
In fact, due to the ongoing tension in West Asia, many passengers were stuck in Jeddah due to disruption in flights. Speaking after landing in Ahmedabad, several passengers spoke about the anxiety they are facing until arrangements are made to return home. He told how the situation is there.
‘I was worried about returning to India’
“There was a war-like situation there and we were worried about how we would return home. Even though we were safe and staying comfortably in a hotel, we were constantly worried about returning back to India,” said a passenger.
‘The embassy helped a lot’
Another passenger said about the role of Indian officials abroad, “The embassy officials helped us a lot during these difficult times. They were in constant touch with us.” Many returnees praised the central government for arranging the special flight.
‘Didn’t think we would be able to return home’
Praising the government’s efforts, a passenger said, “The government helped us a lot. Otherwise, we didn’t know how we would return home. A special flight was sent for us and we returned by the same flight.” Another person said, “We have returned safely. We never thought that we would be able to return home without any harm.”
Some passengers also expressed gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of the government. One of them said, “I have returned safe and sound. Thanks to Allah that He protected us and helped us return home safely.”
Expressed gratitude to PM Modi-Amit Shah
Many people especially thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their intervention. A passenger said, “Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah helped us. We are very happy to be back in India.”
Another person said, “We were stuck at the airport, but the Indian government made a lot of efforts for us. Thanks to Prime Minister Modi for sending the Indigo flight.”
