Reuters said in their report that when the police was asked about this, the Greater Manchester Police said in an email that, “After receiving the rape report on Monday 4 August 2025, we have arrested a 24 -year -old man.”

The board said in its statement, “We have come to know that the Greater Manchester Police is investigating the criminal case against Ali, which is related to the incident in England. Keeping in mind the rights of the players, the board has provided legal assistance to Ali at the time of this entire process. He will be suspended till the investigation is completed. Once the situation is clear, PCB has any kind of work.”
