Shaktisinh gohil resign: The Congress lost in the assembly by-elections in Gujarat. After this defeat, Shakti Singh Gohil resigned from the post of Congress state president on Monday (June 23). He took this decision after a crushing defeat in the Kadi-Visavadar by-election. In place of Gohil, Shailesh Parmar will now take command of the post of state president. Parmar is an MLA from Danilimda seat in Ahmedabad.
What did Gohil say?
Shakti Singh Gohil said that I am very proud to be the most disciplined soldier of India’s oldest and of course, India’s best political party. I have worked hard and have always tried to give my party the best. Unfortunately, we did not succeed today. We have lost the by -elections Visavadar and Kadi.
He said, “I appreciate the constant support and cooperation received from Honorable Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, our visionary leader Rahul Gandhi, General Secretary, Organization, Venugopal and of course our dynamic Gujarat in -charge Mukul Wasnik.”
Gohil said in the X post, “The guidance of Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi has been the biggest blessing of my life who has shaped me as a person and public servant and I will always be grateful to him.”

Rajya Sabha member Gohil said, “In the true spirit of our Congress party and its glorious tradition, I have accepted moral responsibility and resigned from the post of Gujarat Congress President a few hours ago.”
Shakti Singh Gohil said, “I thank all my party leaders, the best Babbar lion workers, my well -wishers, media and all other people for their support and trust in me. I believe that our party is more important than any post or person. I will definitely remain a disciplined soldier of Congress. Always. Jai Congress. Jai Hind.”
By-election result
AAP’s Gopal Italia has won in the Visavadar by-election. The Congress finished third on this seat. AAP won this seat in the assembly elections held in 2022. However, AAP MLA later joined BJP. After this, the by-election was held here again and Italia won.
Italia got 75942 votes. At the same time, BJP’s Kirit Patel got 58388 votes. Nitin Ranparia of Congress got 5501 votes.
BJP candidate Rajendra Chavda won from Kadi. He got 99742 votes. Ramesh Chavda of Congress got 60290 votes. At the same time, AAP’s Jagdish Chavda got 3090 votes. The Kadi seat was vacant after the death of the BJP MLA.
