Hard work rewarded! Mohammed Siraj won a special award, will now take command of Indian bowling in Australia

Team India’s fast bowler Mohammad Siraj is in the best form of his career these days. Siraj won everyone’s hearts with his brilliant performance in the recently concluded Test series against West Indies. For this powerful bowling, he has been awarded the ‘Impact Player Medal’. Siraj took a total of 10 wickets in this series, which was the highest among all fast bowlers.

Siraj’s explosive bowling against West Indies

India won 2-0 in the two-match Test series against West Indies. In the first Test played in Ahmedabad, Siraj wreaked havoc on the green pitch and took 7 wickets. His precise line-length and constant pace did not allow the visiting batsmen to survive. Thanks to this brilliant bowling, India won by an innings and 140 runs.

In the second Test held in Delhi, the pitch was more helpful for spinners, yet Siraj tried his best. He bowled consistently accurately and maintained pressure on the West Indies batsmen. Siraj bowled 49 overs in the entire series, which was only slightly less than Jasprit Bumrah (51.5 overs). This shows how much confidence the captain and team management have in Siraj.

Got special respect in the dressing room

In a video released by BCCI, Siraj was given this ‘Impact Player’ medal in the dressing room by wicketkeeper N Jagadeesan. While receiving the medal, Siraj said, “To be honest, this series was very special for me. For me, taking one wicket on this Delhi pitch was like taking five wickets. When a fast bowler gets the reward for his hard work, one feels both confidence and happiness.”

Now new responsibility in Australia

As soon as the West Indies series ends, Siraj is now ready for a new challenge. He will lead the Indian bowling in the ODI series against Australia, this series will start from October 19. Jasprit Bumrah has been rested, so Siraj will have a big responsibility in this three-match series.

Team India has left for Australia on October 15, and Siraj is ready to test the opposition batsmen once again with his pace.
