Now former Team India player Manoj Tiwari gave a very sharp statement regarding Harshit Rana. Manoj Tiwari, who played with Gautam Gambhir, said that Harshit Rana can never become Mohammed Shami.
Apart from this, Manoj said that no bowler can be prepared at the international level. The team already has bowlers in the pool but still Harshit has been kept in the team. Apart from this, Manoj Tiwari also talked about Harshit’s batting.
Mohammed Shami can’t become
Speaking to InsideSports, Manoj Tiwari said, “Harshit Rana should focus on bowling economically. They have invested a lot in Harshit and that is fine, but in bowling he cannot become Mohammed Shami. Harshit can bat, it does not mean that he should keep spending a lot of runs in bowling and then contribute with the bat and give people a chance to celebrate. This does not make any sense.”
Talking about Shami, he was last seen playing for Team India in the Champions Trophy 2025. Since then, he has been playing domestic cricket continuously but he is not getting a place in Team India. Many people are also linking Shami’s continuous absence with the fact that his international career is now over.
It is not right to prepare players for Team India
Talking further, Manoj Tiwari said that players cannot be prepared in Team India. It is okay to prepare a player for the Indian team only when you do not have a backup. He said, “I am not ready to accept this yet. Team India is not the place where you prepare players. You prepare players when there is no backup in the pool. There are too many players here.”
