Actor Harshvardhan Rane’s film, which debuted in Bollywood with ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’, failed to do wonders for the first time. But, upon re-release its magic was seen at the box office. At the same time, ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ also impressed the audience a lot. But do you know that Harshvardhan was not the makers’ first choice for both these films?
Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane was seen with him in ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’, this film was released in the year 2016. Actor Harshvardhan Rane told in an interview to IANS that he was not the first choice of the makers in his two most popular films ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ and ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’. The lead roles of both the films were initially offered to someone else, but later he was selected.
Harsh Vardhan told, “I was not the first choice in both the films. The role of ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ was with someone else and ‘Ek Deewane Ki Diwaniyat’ had also been offered to someone else. On the third day of the release of the film ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’, a message came from director Milap Milan Zaveri. The film was released on 5 February 2016 and on 7 February, Milap Sir contacted me and asked me to meet. When he asked me to narrate this story. When I told him about this, I said, Sir, I already like your work and I want to work with you.”
Harsh Vardhan said that Milap Sir’s vision attracts him the most. He makes films for the mass audience and his stories reach the hearts of common people. He got to learn a lot by working in both the films.
Harsh Vardhan said, “Milap sir’s films are made for the mass audience of tier-2 and tier-3 cities. He always wants to deliver emotional stories to as many people as possible. I like directors who deliver the message to the mass audience and do not make films only for a select audience. This was the reason why I worked with Milap sir.”
Regarding ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’, the actor said, “I had auditioned. The makers saw his audition and after an hour asked him to audition again. The director became emotional after doing the scene for the second time. Whereas, this film had been offered to another actor. I understood that he liked my work.”
The film ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ was directed jointly by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, which was initially weak at the box office, but later became a superhit after its re-release. Its re-release in the year 2025 made this film a blockbuster. The audience liked the pairing of Harshvardhan and Mavra very much and people gave so much love that the film was successful in earning more than Rs. 30 crores.
‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ was released in the year 2025, which is directed by Milap Zaveri. The audience liked Harshvardhan’s intense and emotional role in this film very much. The film did good business and Harshvardhan’s performance was highly praised.
