Haryana Electricity Rates: There is big news for electricity consumers in Haryana. Now more money will have to be paid on electricity consumption in home or shops. In fact, Haryana’s Electricity Regulatory Company (HERC) has fixed new power tariffs, which has increased by 20-30 paise per kW than last year.

HERC has increased electricity prices by 20 paise for domestic consumers. Now for a slab of 0 to 50 units, you have to pay Rs 2.20 per kW, which was earlier 2 rupees. Similarly, if electricity is consumed between 51 and 100 units, Rs 2.70 will have to be paid instead of Rs 2.50.

So much price on consumption of more than 100 units
According to the report of the news agency PTI, the Haryana Electricity Commission released a list of new power tariffs on Tuesday (April 1). According to the new tariff, consumption of more than 100 units will have to be given Rs 2.95 per kW for 0-150 units.

According to an official statement, the tariff for Category-I in FY 2020-21 was reduced from Rs 2.70 per unit to Rs 2 (0-50 units per month) and in the case of consumption between 51 units to 100 units, the tariff was reduced from Rs 4.50 per unit to Rs 2.50 per unit, which has now been fixed at Rs 2.20 and Rs 2.70 per unit in the new order.

In addition, this new tariff structure provides immediate relief to families by eliminating the burden of new monthly fee (MMC). However, two-partial tariff system has been introduced in which no fixed fee will be imposed on domestic consumers with monthly energy consumed up to 300 units.

Tariff is still the lowest in neighboring states for domestic consumers of category-I. Meanwhile, the rate for slabs of 151-300 units is Rs 5.25 per kWh, it will be Rs 6.45 per kWh from 301 to 500 units and this rate will be Rs 7.10 per kWh for consumption of more than 500 units.
