Haryana DGP O.P. On December 1, 2025, Singh conducted a surprise visit to Gurugram Police Station Cyber Crime East, where he put himself in the role of a “digital arrest” victim and examined the response process, support system and technical capacity of the police.
This inspection is being considered very important for the purpose of cyber crime prevention, quick relief to the victims and fixing the responsibility of the banks. The DGP clarified that Haryana Police will now adopt a more aggressive, strategic and innovative approach to deal with cyber crimes.
Major decisions regarding cyber crime control
During the inspection, the DGP directed the officials to take prompt action on cyber complaints and ensure immediate recovery of small financial losses. He said that in cases of bank freezing of small amounts, the victims will be given quick financial relief by involving Lok Adalat.
He said that if the negligence of the bank is proved, the bank will have to compensate for the financial loss. Cases causing delay in disposal of complaints will be strictly reviewed. With each complaint lodged, tracking status and support will be provided to the victim.
He said that “Haryana Police aims to make cyber fraud difficult and make the police process citizen-friendly.” During the inspection, he also thoroughly examined the response system, data handling and follow-up structure of the police station.

Appeal to beware of cyber fraud
DGP OP While talking to the media, Singh said that most of the cyber crimes are committed by creating greed or fear in the minds of people, hence vigilance is the biggest weapon. He stressed that if someone asks to send money in the name of earnings, award, government order, police action or any kind of pressure, then understand that fraud is taking place.
If you open a suspicious call, link, website or app, be alert immediately. Verify before making any payment and do not trust messages from unknown sources. If you face cyber crime, lodge a complaint on helpline 1930. DGP warned citizens that in the digital age, fraudsters are constantly adopting new methods, hence security is not possible without awareness.
Preparation of “Cyber Awareness Ambassador” in schools and colleges
Haryana Police is working on a plan to make cyber security a mass movement in the state, under which “cyber awareness ambassadors” are being prepared in schools and colleges. The role of these students will be to spread safety messages in every home, society and on digital platforms.
Youth will be trained to identify and prevent cyber crimes. Awareness campaign will be run widely on social media. Partnership between police, educational institutions and citizens will be strengthened.
The DGP assured that Haryana Police will continue its efforts to provide justice to the victims, increase technological infrastructure and ensure digital security across the state. He said that along with police action, public vigilance is equally necessary in the fight against cyber crime.
