On Tuesday (August 26) in the Assembly of Haryana, there was a demand to enact a law on a new issue. BJP MLA Ram Kumar Gautam has made an important proposal about weddings in the assembly.
He said that the government should enact a law in which it is mandatory to get the permission of the parents before marriage. Gautam, MLA from Safidon, raised this issue during Zero Hour and said that it is very important in view of the current situation.
Why did the MLA raise this demand?
In fact, the MLA has raised this demand in view of the increasing crimes happening after today’s weddings. According to PTI, Ram Kumar Gautam said, “Nowadays boys and girls run away from home and get married, which sometimes make parents forced to take steps like suicide.”
They believe that if the parents permission before marriage will be made mandatory, then such incidents will decrease. He appealed to the government that this law will keep respect and social balance in the families.

The MLA has also raised the issue of collector rates of land during zero hours. Concerning the farmers, he said that there is a big difference between the collector rates and market prices in many places, which should be abolished. According to him, “If this difference is less, corruption will also be stopped.” Gautam described it in the interest of farmers and land buyers.
Speaker stopped speech
After the time was over Gautam, Speaker Harvinder Kalyan asked him to sit. But when the MLA tried to continue speaking, the speaker clarified that he would have to give notice for additional issues. Gautam recently left Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) and joined BJP before the 2024 assembly elections.
