According to CNN report, an Iranian source said on Tuesday (24 March 2026) that there has been contact between America and Tehran and Iran is ready to listen to permanent proposals to end the war. The source said, ‘In recent days, there have been contacts between America and Iran on the initiative of Washington, but till now no talks have reached the full level. Messages have been received through different mediators to find out whether an agreement can be reached to end the war or not.
Iran will not make nuclear weapons
Iran is ready to give all necessary guarantees that it will never develop nuclear weapons, but it has the right to peaceful use of nuclear technology. The source said that any proposal should also include ending all sanctions imposed on Iran. According to sources, Iran is not demanding a meeting or direct talks with the United States, but it is ready to listen if any agreement is possible that can protect Iran’s national interests.
Trump claimed meaningful talks with Iran
US President Trump threatened on Saturday (21 March 2025) that if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened within 48 hours, the US will destroy Iran’s power plant. However, after this, on March 23, Trump suddenly put a five-day pause on those attacks and claimed that America had meaningful talks with Iran.
