Maulana Sajid Rashidi, President of All India Imam Association, has reacted to Rambhadracharya’s statement on ending reservation. He said about Rambhadracharya that he is eating cream. He further said that the elders who fought for reservation and sacrificed their lives to get this reservation passed, you are saying that it should be abolished. Maulana said that SC-ST should be given that position first. You do not want to make them priests in temples, you do not want to allow them access to the sanctum sanctorum of temples.

On this he further said that there was a decision of the Supreme Court and even after that decision, such things were not said. When you do not want to give them equality then if they are getting any benefit from the government in the name of reservation then why do you oppose it. Maulana further said that by removing the reservation, he wants to weaken those people so much that they will again fall at your feet and start considering you as God.

What did Maulana Sajid Rashidi say on polygamy bill?

Talking on the Polygamy Bill, Sajid Rashidi said, ‘There are not many Muslims in government jobs.’ He further said that this is an attack on faith, because there is freedom for polygamy in Islam. Citing the Constitution, Rashidi said that it is written in the Constitution of the country till Article 26, 27 and Article 30 that we can practice our religion freely.

Maulana further said that we can propagate our religion. We can open and run our own kind of institutions, madrassas, schools and colleges. Maulana further said that who are you to bring such bills. He said that obviously people have Islamophobia. Those who do not want to see Islam and Muslims eye to eye, whose politics is based on Islam and Muslims, can bring similar bills.

Assam government passed polygamy bill

Polygamy Prohibition Bill was recently passed by the government in the Assam Assembly. This bill was brought to ban more than one marriage in the state. As soon as this bill was passed, it became illegal to marry more than once in the state.
