All the Atal Mohalla Clinic being operated by the government in Jharkhand will now be known as Mother Teresa Advance Health Clinic. This decision was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday (July 24).
BJP opposed the decision
There are about 140 Mohalla clinics operated across the state. These clinics were established with the aim of providing primary health services to urban and rural poor in their villages and mohallas. At the same time, BJP state spokesperson Ajay Sah strongly opposed this decision and said that whenever there is a positive initiative towards development in Jharkhand, the JMM government tries to drag it into dispute.
He said that schemes like Ayushman Bharat and Atal Mohalla Clinic are the results of BJP’s revolutionary thinking, which have provided accessible healthcare to poor and common people, but Hemant Sarkar is changing the name of these schemes to its political agenda, which is unfortunate.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the creator of the state of Jharkhand- BJP
Ajay Sah said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been the creator of the state of Jharkhand and his name is in the memories of the people of Jharkhand. In such a situation, the attempt to take political advantage by removing his name is an insult to not only Bharat Ratna, but the soul of the whole of Jharkhand. He suggested to the government that if she wants to start a new health plan, then there is freedom to keep new names in it, but changing the name of already established and popular schemes is an example of och politics.
The people of Jharkhand will never accept such decisions- BJP
The BJP spokesperson alleged that this is not the first time the Hemant Sarkar has tried to change the names of great nationalists. He cited the effort to change the name of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University and said that the people of Jharkhand will never accept such decisions.
Draft of Jharkhand State University Bill-2025 also approved
Here, the cabinet has also approved the draft of Jharkhand State University Bill-2025. It will be introduced in the assembly in the monsoon session. Under this, all government universities of the state will now be operated under uniform rules. For this, State University Service Commission will be formed, which will look into matters like appointment and promotion of teachers. The University of Medical and Agriculture will remain outside its purview, while the age limit of the Vice Chancellors has been fixed at 70 years.
Government of Jharkhand took many more important decisions
- According to another important decision, Jharkhand State Police, Roommakers, Soldier (Home Defense Corps), Product Soldier Joint Recruitment Rules, 2025 were approved and canceled the police recruitment advertisements published earlier.
- Under the new manual, all categories of applicants will be given five years discount in the age limit and fee exemption to earlier applicants.
- In defense of Naxalite incidents or border of the country, it was also decided to give a government job to the dependents of the central paramilitary personnel resident of Jharkhand, a resident of Jharkhand, on special grant and compassion.
- The cabinet also gave approval to dismiss Dr. Kumari Rekha (Musabani, Jamshedpur) and Dr. Reena Kumari (Sadar Hospital, Bokaro) from service due to being absent from duty for a long time.
- The cabinet has approved the creation of a total of 4339 posts renewed by extraditing the posts of 3712 Urdu Assistant Teachers in the state.
- In the first phase, 3287 posts of intermediate trained Assistant Acharya will be created in primary schools for Urdu subject.
- Along with this, 1052 posts of graduate trained Assistant Acharya have been approved in middle schools.
