Hero Motocorp Preparaing to Launch 2 New Vida Electric Scooters in July

In the last few years, the market of electric two-wheelers has increased rapidly. Hero Motocorp, one of the big two-wheeler companies, plans to increase its presence in this segment. The company created the VIDA brand for electric two-wheelers. Three models are being sold under this brand. Hero MotoCorp has reported that it will launch two new electric scooters on 1 July.

However, the company has not given much information about the upcoming electric scooters. A media Report Sources have been quoted as saying that the company is working on a low cost EV platform, ACPD. Along with this, the upcoming VIDA electric scooters of Hero MotoCorp are likely to be the same as scooters with internal combustion engine (ice). The company’s new electric scooters may separate from its already existing V2 and the recently introduced Z series.

Vida’s portfolio includes three models – Vida V2 Lite, V2 Plus and V2 Pro. Their prices are between about Rs 74,000 to about Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom). Hero MotoCorp has also planned to increase VIDA’s dealership network. It has about 180 dealerships in 116 cities of the country. Electric scooters of Hero MotoCorp compete with the S1 Pro of Ola Electric and 450X of Ather Energy. The company plans to launch electric two-wheelers in various price segments. The company’s V1 Pro battery is 3.94 kwh and range 165 km, while the V1 Plus battery is 3.44 kwh and range of about 143 km. Hero MotoCorp has delayed starting in this segment, which has benefited startups like Ather Energy and Ola Electric.

In the last financial year, the cells of Electric Scooters of Hero MotoCorp have increased by about 175 percent. The company has sold 48,673 units. In the last financial year, the figure was about 17,720 units. Manufacturing of the company’s electric scooters has a capacity of 7,000 units per month. This capacity can soon be increased to more than 15,000 units per month.
