This ‘love story’ was so sweet, that whenever you watch it at any time, it seems fresh. Both Vijayta Pandit and Kumar Gaurav made their debut with this film. The pairing of these two was liked so much that people wanted to see them together in real life also. During the shooting of this film, love blossomed between them, but Kumar Gaurav’s father Rajendra Kumar became the enemy of this love.
Rajendra Kumar was the real villain
Rajendra never allowed Vijayta and Kumar Gaurav to work together after this one film. Regarding this, Vijayta Pandit herself had told in the podcast of Waves Retro that Rajendra Kumar had ruined her career. Vijayata told that, ‘All the films in which Bunty (Kumar Gaurav) worked were of romantic genre. Ramanand Sagar ji had called me for his film ‘Romance’ and said that my film is being made, I am making a love story film only. I want you to work in this, so I said uncle, I will work.

Further Vijayata tells that she had to work, hence she said yes but Rajendra Kumar refused saying that his son would not work with Vijayata. She said, ‘I was the heroine in all the films like ‘Lovers’, ‘Romance’, ‘Teri Kasam’. We also shot a film named ‘Raahi’, Rajendra ji got me out of every film after that. He was the main person who did not allow me to work with Bunty (Kumar Gaurav).

Not only this, when many producers used to tell him that ‘Sir, Vijayata and Bunty have to be taken together, their affair is a hit’. So he used to say that ‘The heroine does not make the picture a hit, the hero makes it a hit’. So during every film, he used to take the name of some other heroine in place of Vijayata and the film would go out of Vijayata’s hands. Let us tell you that the affair of Kumar Gaurav and Vijayata Pandit was much discussed at that time. But amidst the affair, Kumar Gaurav got engaged to Raj Kapoor’s daughter Reema Kapoor. However, this engagement was also broken and Kumar Gaurav married Sanjay Dutt’s sister Namrata Dutt.
Whereas Vijayata Pandit married famous singer and music producer Aadesh Srivastava in the year 1990. But in the year 2015, Aadesh said goodbye to the world at the age of just 51 while fighting a battle with cancer. Aadesh and Vijayata also have two sons.
