Hijab controversy: New twist in the story of Dr. Nusrat Parveen, did not join the job on the first day, filed leave application

After the hijab controversy in Bihar, Dr. Nusrat Parveen had joined the job on Wednesday, 7 January but she did not come for duty on Thursday, 8 January. AYUSH doctor Dr. Nusrat Parveen has been posted in Primary Health Center, Patna Sadar, Sabalpur (Fagua). She herself had accepted the offer yesterday, but today she did not reach the hospital.

Patna Civil Surgeon Dr. Avinash Singh’s statement has come regarding Dr. Nusrat Parveen. He has told that Nusrat Parveen will not come for duty right now. He has submitted a leave application, in which it has been said that he is taking leave for personal reasons. His joining has been done. A medical certificate has been made and all the documents have been given to him.

Doctor Avinash Singh says that Nusrat Parveen has joined but she will not come for duty yet. Hope he comes back soon and joins the job.

Took job 24 days after hijab controversy

Hijab controversy started from December 15

On December 15, 2025, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was distributing appointment letters to AYUSH doctors in Patna, when Nusrat Parveen also went to collect her joining letter. During this, Nitish Kumar had pulled her hijab on the stage itself. After this the matter gained momentum.

It was told that Nusrat had gone to Kolkata out of fear and would not join the job. Then, he had to join the job by December 20, but he did not accept the offer. After this the joining date was extended till 31st December. Even then he did not join the job. After this, the joining date was extended once again to January 7. Now Nusrat accepted joining, but she did not reach for duty.
