Germany and France said – Trump is blackmailing
European countries have condemned Trump’s threats to impose tariffs on countries that are opposing the US President’s plans on Greenland. Germany and France have called it blackmail. The European Union has said in its recent statement that it will hold a summit to consider its response. Its purpose is to reduce tension and create dialogue. At the same time, Greenland has also rejected external pressure. The Prime Minister there, Jens Frederik Nielsen, has said that this area cannot be intimidated. As a democratic society, Greenland has the right to take its own decisions.
Trump said – unless Greenland is controlled, the world is not safe
There has been a reaction from Europe regarding Trump’s claims. Concern has also arisen here between Greenland and NATO allies. Trump said that the world will not be safe until the United States takes complete control over Greenland.
He said that after not getting the Nobel Peace Prize, it is no longer difficult to think about world peace. Peace is now a major goal. Regarding Greenland, he has repeatedly argued that Greenland is important for US national security. However, American army is deployed there. There are also defense agreements with Denmark.
