Jharkhand Home Guard Recruitment 2025: There is good news for the youth waiting to become home guards in Jharkhand. Official notifications have been issued for recruitment to a total of 463 posts of Home Guard Corps in Chatra district. The process of application in this recruitment campaign has started from 15 September 2025 and interested candidates can apply online by 30 September 2025. The facility of application is available on the official website of the district chatra.nic.in. For this recruitment, an application fee of Rs 100 will be charged from all the candidates.
According to the notification issued, this recruitment includes both rural and urban posts. There are a total of 434 vacancies for the posts of Rural Home Guard, while 29 vacancies have been released for urban home guard posts (technical and non-technical). Overall, 463 posts will be filled in this recruitment campaign. In these posts, 235 posts are reserved for men and 228 posts are reserved for women. Both women and men can apply for these posts.
Educational qualification and eligibility
For the posts of Rural Home Guard, the candidate is required to pass seventh grade and they should be a permanent resident of Chatra district. The minimum qualification for urban home protector posts has been fixed for tenth (matriculation) pass. Also, candidates should be urban general residents.
Age limit and physical standard
For recruitment, the age of the candidate should be minimum 19 years and maximum 40 years on 1 January 2025. The length of male candidates has been fixed at least 162 centimeters for general, OBC and BC category and 157 centimeters for SC and ST category. The minimum length of women candidates should be 148 centimeters. The chest of male candidates should be 79 centimeters, the reserved class will get a discount of three centimeters in it.
Selection process and physical test
The selection process includes physical examination, written examination and technical efficiency test for urban technical posts. Physical examination will include activities like race, high jump, long jump and shot put.
According to the standard of the race, male candidates will have to complete one mile race in five minutes or less. Candidates will be disqualified if it is taken over 10 points and more than six minutes on completing it in five to six minutes. Women candidates will have to complete a mile race in eight minutes. 10 marks will be given for completing the race in eight to ten minutes.
