Bihar Deputy Chief Minister cum Home Department Minister Samrat Chaudhary on Friday (February 20, 2026) responded to those raising questions on law and order in the House. Told how Bihar Police is doing its work. How is the rule of good governance in Bihar? Just a few days ago, MP Pappu Yadav was arrested by the police in Patna. Samrat Chaudhary targeted Pappu Yadav without taking his name. Even the elephant said.
Samrat Chaudhary said in the Bihar Assembly, “People land at the airport and say that the Bihar police cannot even kill an ant and that man gets arrested within two hours and says that he has fallen ill. Now even an elephant prefers to go to the hospital after falling ill due to fear of the police. This is the situation in Bihar… you understand how Bihar has changed.”
People are making wrong statements: Samrat Chaudhary
Attacking the opposition leaders, the Deputy CM further said that these people only make false statements. He said, “I am quoting Rabri Devi that she had said that the minister’s son or the minister is involved in the NEET student scandal. I said that you tell the name and give the proof, I will put you in Beur jail within 24 hours… How can you raise questions? If you are a member of the House, then you will have to answer.”
‘During RJD’s rule, governance was run from jail’
Samrat Chaudhary said that the police is ready to take action. Police doesn’t leave anyone and they don’t have to. This is good governance. The people of Bihar have suffered a lot. Have seen the plight of Bihar. Samrat Chaudhary said that during the RJD rule, rule was run from jail, but Nitish Kumar has changed this system. Now CCTV cameras have been installed in all the jails and online monitoring is being done. A close watch is being kept on who is meeting the criminals.
