Both lawyers said that judges and lawyers across the country are concerned about this chapter. On this, the Chief Justice said that as the head of the judiciary, he will fulfill his responsibilities and the entire matter will be looked at seriously.

what is written in the book

According to the report, in the new Social Science book of Class 8 of NCERT, it has been said that corruption, long running of cases and shortage of judges are the major challenges of the judicial system. It is also written in the book that judges are bound by a code of conduct, which regulates their behavior inside and outside the court.

Focus on the role of judiciary

In the chapter titled “Role of Judiciary in our Society”, not only the system of courts but also how justice reaches the common people has been talked about. In this, an attempt has been made to explain how the judicial system works and what problems it faces. However, there has been maximum controversy regarding this part.

How are book chapters decided?

According to media reports, no changes are made directly in NCERT books. Separate expert committees are formed for every subject and every class. These committees include subject experts, teachers and education related experts. They decide which chapters should be included and which should be removed.

Before making changes in the books, recommendations of the expert committee are taken. After this, those recommendations are reviewed at a higher level. Only when consensus is reached at all levels, changes are implemented in the books. That means this decision is not taken by any one person.
