what doctors say?
Despite the increasing cases of Kovid, experts believe that the situation is not yet worrisome. According to Dr. Ujjwal Prakhar, Chest Medicine Specialist at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi, Kovid is now behaving like a common viral infection. Earlier the symptoms of covid were severe such as taste and loss of odor, but now its symptoms are limited to normal viral infections such as cough, cold and fever. Dr. Ujjwal said that due to weak immunity in the elderly and children, the danger can be higher than the infection or any other infection, especially among those who are already suffering from other diseases.
Director General of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Dr. Rajiv Bahl also said that the sub-workers (LF.7, XFG, JN.1, and NB.1.8.1) of Omikron, which are currently spreading, are not serious. These variants are responsible for recent cases in India, but they are less at risk of serious illness. Experts say that 2710 cases are negligible in the population of 140 crores, so there is no need to panic.
precautions and prevention measures
During the previous Kovid Wave, the government implemented strict protocols. These included things like social dispensing, mask wearing and lockdown etc. However, such strict measures are not required in the current situation. Dr. Ujjwal suggested that those who are ill, should have to get themselves isolated and keep distance from others. Common precautions such as regular hands washing, wearing masks in crowded places and maintaining hygiene are still important. Especially the elderly and people with weak immunity should be excessive vigilance.
