This infection is very dangerous, according to reports, most deaths occur in cases received from it. This amoeba is found especially in dirty and uninteresting water. When a person floats or bathes in such water, this amoeba can reach the mind inside the nose.
The initial symptoms of this infection are such that people consider it to be normal cold or viral fever. These include severe headache, fever, vomiting, neck stiffness, and weakness. As the infection increases, the patient may have seizures, there may be confusion and he can also go into a coma. The severity of this infection is so high that many times the patient dies in a few days.
Brain-eating is the treatment of amoeba or not?
Treatment of brain-eating amoeba is very difficult. It is called Primary Amibic meningo encephalitis (PAM) in medical language. There is no permanent cure for this disease and most medicines do not reach the brain properly. Therefore, early identification of the disease and starting treatment immediately can be avoided, but still the risk of death is more.
To prevent this, swim in clean and chlorinated water. It is necessary to have clean and chlorine water of swimming pool or water park. Also, apply clips on the nose while swim so that the water does not go into the nose. Avoid lobs, lakes, or without cleaning swimming pools. Use only boiled or distilled water in equipment like Neti Pot. If there is a high headache, fever, vomiting or confusion after bathing, then get treatment immediately.
