Vivaan Shah tells that he never thought of becoming an actor, because at that time the society and family thought that becoming an actor was “impractical”. People often used to say, “Son, don’t become an actor, become an engineer.” So he chose Humanities and continued his studies, but during college he had to face ridicule many times.
People used to tell him that he would become an actor, whereas he himself wanted to become an engineer. At the age of 19, when he was feeling lost in his second year of college, Vishal Bhardwaj asked him to audition for “Satkoon”.
Vishal’s films “Omkara” and “Kaminey” had impressed him a lot, so he auditioned and got the role. Seeing the work on the sets of “Satkoon” made him realize that cinema is not just entertainment but an important art for the society.
He told himself that this opportunity was his destiny and he should take full advantage of it. That same day he decided to become a full-time actor.
