Whenever there is talk of films based on patriotism and war in Bollywood, then 1997 film JP. The name of Dutta’s film ‘Border’ is taken first. This film was not just a story, but was connected to the emotions of millions of people of that era. Even today, this film keeps people glued to the screen as soon as it comes on TV. Now that the sequel of this film i.e. ‘Border 2’ is coming, the expectations of the audience have increased more than before.
Actress Sonam Bajwa spoke exclusively to IANS about being associated with this film and shared her happiness.
Let us tell you that Sonam Bajwa is going to be seen opposite Diljit Dosanjh in ‘Border 2’. Sonam Bajwa told that for her this film is not just a new project, but a special experience related to childhood memories. ‘Border’ has been very close to his heart and being a part of the sequel of the same film is like a dream come true for him.
Sonam Bajwa reacted about Border 2
Sonam said, “I don’t know how many times I must have watched the film ‘Border’ on TV in my childhood. This film is not just entertainment for me, but a story that teaches us about patriotism, emotions and sacrifice. I have many fond memories associated with this film and hence being a part of ‘Border 2’ is a moment of pride and joy for me.
How did you get Border 2?
He further told in the interview how he got the opportunity to work in ‘Border 2’. Sonam said, “The film’s director Anurag Singh himself had contacted me. Earlier, I had worked with Anurag Singh in the 2017 Punjabi film ‘Super Singh’. We already had a good professional relationship, due to which this collaboration became even more natural.”
Sonam shared another interesting thing in this conversation. He told that both the films ‘Super Singh’ and ‘Border 2’ have one thing in common and that is Diljit Dosanjh.
Sonam said, “Working with Anurag Singh and Diljit has always been special. These films related to Punjab have further strengthened our mutual bond, and that is why I was very excited to work with this team again.”
Regarding her character in the film, Sonam said, “I am playing the role of a Punjabi girl named Manjeet. My character belongs to Ambala and I am married to Flying Officer Nirmal Jeet Singh played by Diljit Dosanjh. This character is very deep emotionally and has an important role in the story.
The film ‘Border 2’ will be released in theaters on 23 January 2026.
