Today is a historic day in the grand temple of Ramlala in Ayodhya. On the occasion of Vivah Panchami, the saffron flag will be formally hoisted on the peak of the temple. This is considered to be the same special date when the marriage of Lord Ram and Mother Sita took place in Tretayuga. The country’s PM Narendra Modi will hoist the saffron flag on the peak of Ramlala temple.
Now that the construction of the temple has been completed and the worship system is running smoothly, the question is also arising in the minds of people that how do priests become priests in the Ram temple and how much salary do they get? The appointment of priest in Ram temple is done by Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. To become a priest, it is most important that the candidate has adequate knowledge of Sanskrit, Vedas, Shastras and worship methods.
Most of the priests have Acharya or Shastri level education. Apart from this, the experience of worship in a big temple, calm and disciplined life and religious conduct are also given importance. Interview of the candidate and practical test of worship method is also taken. Only after this the final selection is made.
How much salary do you get?
According to reports, recently a major change has been made in the salaries of priests and temple employees in Ram Temple. The Trust has further strengthened the priests financially by increasing their salaries. The salary of the head priest has been increased to approximately Rs 35,000 per month. Whereas the salary of assistant priests has been fixed at Rs 33,000 per month. The temple steward and storekeeper get a salary of Rs 24,000 per month. Apart from this, recently a new storekeeper has been appointed at a monthly salary of Rs 19,000.
The Trust has also decided that now funds will be deducted from the salaries of the employees engaged in the worship arrangements of the temple, so that the administrative system of the temple continues to run smoothly. The process of annual salary increase has also been started, due to which there will be regular increase in the salaries of priests and staff in the coming time.
