IPL Player Fine Rules: The rules of IPL are very tough, due to which the players are also banned from the penalty of match fees to matches. Its recent hunting was made Digvesh Rathi of Lucknow Super Giants, who made a gesture to provoke Abhishek Sharma in the match against SRH. Due to this, he was fined 50 percent of the match fees and a match ban. In the first IPL 2025, many players have been banned due to slow-over rate.

Many players are fined millions of rupees, in such a situation, the question arises whether this money is deducted from the amount that the players get in the auction? Here you will get the answer to this question.

What is match fee and penalty?

First of all, know how much players get match fees, which is different from the player’s auction contract. For example, a player is sold for Rs 1 crore in the auction, apart from that he gets a match fee of Rs 7.5 lakh for each match. When a player is fined, that fine is deducted from the amount of Rs 7.5 lakh. Therefore, when it is said that a player has been fined 50 percent of the match fee, then he gets only 3 lakh 50 thousand rupees to play the match.

BCCI implemented some new rules for IPL 2025. The team captain is fined 12 lakhs for the slow-over rate. Since the player gets a match fee of Rs 7.5 lakh for a match, a fine of 12 lakhs can be made from 2 matches. There is no information available about where the amount raised from fine is used, but this amount of fine goes to the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
