After a long battle of 200 years against the British, India got independence on 15 August 1947, but with this the country was partitioned and Pakistan came into existence as a separate nation. This new country, divided on the basis of religion, also became independent in the same year, but Pakistan celebrates its Independence Day on 14 August.
Historians say that Pakistan was recognized as an independent nation on 14 August. Also, the then Viceroy Lord Mountbatten wanted to be in Delhi on August 15, so he transferred power to Pakistan in Karachi on 14 August. Another reason is the standard time of both countries. India is 30 minutes ahead of Pakistan. The new day of independence began in India at 12:00 pm on August 15, while in Pakistan it was 11:30 pm on 14 August.

Difference in celebration of India and Pakistan
Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations resemble India’s Republic Day, in which military parade, cannon salute and President-President address are the main ones.
