The new Tata Punch Facelift has now been launched in India. Many important changes have been made in this car. Its starting price is Rs 5.5 lakh. This time the company has not only changed the look, but has also improved its mechanical parts. Let’s take a look at its first look.
- The new Tata Punch Facelift now looks bigger, bolder and SUV-like than before. At first glance this car feels more related to Tata Nexon. Thin LED DRLs are provided in the front and headlamps are provided at the bottom, due to which its face looks quite modern. The new bumper and sleek grille give the Punch a more premium look. The side profile may not have changed much, but the new alloy wheels improve its personality. A major change is seen in the rear design, where now connected tail-lamps, more black cladding and a new Tata logo have been given. Overall, the Punch now looks more like a true SUV than a hatchback.
What’s new in the interior?
- The cabin of the new Punch Facelift feels completely fresh. It has a large touchscreen, which supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The display is sharper and more responsive than before. With this, digital instrument cluster, new dashboard layout and touch-based HVAC panel are available. The new two-spoke steering wheel comes with illuminated Tata logo. However, fingerprints easily fall on the touch panel. Talking about the features, it includes safety features like 360 degree camera, blind view monitor, ventilated front seats, auto headlights and 6 airbags. Space remains the same as before, but it remains quite comfortable for two people on the rear seat.
Engine and mechanical modifications
- The new Tata Punch Facelift gets a standard 1.2 liter petrol engine, which comes with manual and AMT gearbox. The biggest update is its new 1.2 liter turbo petrol engine, which gives power of 120 bhp and torque of 170 Nm. This engine is available with 6-speed manual transmission. Apart from this, AMT option and paddle shifters are now also provided in CNG variant, which makes it special in this segment.

- The starting price of the new Tata Punch Facelift starts at around Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom). With a more powerful engine, better design and a host of new features, Punch has now become a stronger package than ever before.
