Regarding the incident, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said, “Taking seriously the stressful atmosphere created after a post on social media, I myself visited Yawat village. During this time I reviewed the entire incident from local citizens and police administration.”

How did the violence erupt?
Actually, this whole controversy started with an objectionable post on WhatsApp. A young man allegedly shared an objectionable post on a WhatsApp group. After this, the people of the village gradually came on the streets and people from the other side also came. On this, the mob pelted stones at the house of a young man who posted on social media. After the dispute escalated, it took the form of a violent clash.
Curfew imposed in A area
In view of the increasing violence, curfew was imposed in Yawat village in Daund taluka in Pune district. A large number of police forces have been deployed. Police personnel are constantly patrolling in the area.
