Posting on the social media platform X, he said, “It was a crime to inform Pakistan at the beginning of our attack. The Foreign Minister has publicly acknowledged that the Government of India did so.” He further said, “Who authorized it? This is how many aircraft our Air Force lost?”

In the video that Congress leader shared, S.K. Jaishankar is heard saying, “At the beginning of the operation we sent a message to Pakistan that we are attacking terrorist bases. We are not attacking the military. So the army has the option not to interfere in this process and stay separate. They opted to not accept good advice.”

Rahul Gandhi has raised these questions after denying the allegations by the government. Earlier, it was clarified in the PIB fact check that the Foreign Minister has not accepted anything like this and described the broadcast claims as misleading. The PIB said on X, “The social media post incorrectly shown from the statement of External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar that India had informed Pakistan before the operation vermilion started. The Foreign Minister is being incorrectly quoted and he has not made this statement.”
