The Indian team started playing ODI cricket in 1974. In the last five decades, there have been only 5 teams which have defeated India in an ODI series at home. Pakistan has won the ODI series by coming to India the most number of times. Pakistan team has defeated India 6 times in the ODI series at home.
After that comes Australia, which has won the ODI series in India five times. West Indies have defeated India 4 times, while England and South Africa have defeated India once each in the ODI series at home.

New Zealand could never do this
So far, New Zealand has played 7 ODI series against Team India on Indian soil, in which the Indian team has won every time. 42 ODI matches have been played between Team India and New Zealand in India, in which India has emerged victorious 32 times and the Kiwis have emerged victorious 9 times, while one of their matches could not yield any result. Now in 2026, New Zealand will have a chance to win the ODI series for the first time by defeating India at home.
