Stock market holidays: The Indian stock market will be closed for a total of 8 days in the month of July. These include Saturday and Sunday holidays. Apart from weekends, there is no separate holiday this month. The stock market is usually closed on Saturday and Sunday. According to the NSE trading holiday list, the next holiday of 2025 will be on August 15 on the occasion of Independence Day. After this, there will be a holiday of Ganesh Chaturthi on August 27. There are 14 trading holidays in the year 2025.

Why is ‘Muhurta trading’ kept for 1 hour?
However, on 21 October, a special trading session will be kept for one hour on the occasion of Diwali as this day is considered auspicious. It is also called ‘Muhurta Trading’. It is believed that during this period, wealth and prosperity remains throughout the year. This tradition has been going on for a long time, in which a large number of investors participate. Under this tradition that has been going on for the last 69 years, the stock market opens between 6-7 pm on the day of Diwali. During this period, trading is done in all segments like equity, commodity derivatives, browing, equity fuetures and options and security lending.
Banks holiday in July
Banks will also be closed for 13 days in July. There will be no work in 7 more days in addition to the 4 Sundays and the second-fourth Saturdays of the month. Under the RBI’s Negotiable Instruments Act, banks will have a holiday in view of local festival and religious festivals in many different states.
