After the Pahalgam terrorist attack, the four-day military confrontation between India and Pakistan between May 7 and 10 this year may have ended, but discussions are still going on about the losses incurred during that period and Operation ‘Sindoor’. A new bipartisan report from the US Congress has again brought this issue to the fore and made many big claims.
According to the report, Pakistan lost 5 military aircraft in the Indian attacks. At the same time, India lost three jets, but the report says that all of them were not Rafale. This information also matches President Donald Trump’s earlier claims, in which he had said that a total of 8 jets were downed in the collision. Some former military officers of Pakistan had also accepted the loss of their planes in the media.
Pakistan’s big loss, 5 jets destroyed
Trump has claimed many times that a total of 8 planes were shot down in this confrontation that took place in early May. On comparison with the American report, it becomes clear that Pakistan alone lost 5 war planes, which exposes its claims of victory and proves India’s claim.
China’s propaganda also came to the fore
The American report also says that after the confrontation, China spread misinformation about India’s Rafale aircraft. It is alleged that China was doing this to sell its J-10 fighter jets and PL-15 missiles, which were said to be used to target Indian aircraft.
The report admits that India lost three jets, but it is not necessary that all were Rafale. This also matches with an earlier US intelligence assessment, which estimated that two Indian jets, including one Rafale, were shot down by Pakistan’s J-10 aircraft.
Trump himself took credit, gave the number as 8
Trump claimed during an event in Miami that he played a role in preventing the two countries from war. He said a total of seven jets were shot down, while the eighth was seriously damaged. According to Trump, he forced India and Pakistan to stop the war by threatening to impose tariffs. He has made this claim many times. However, India has repeatedly denied Trump’s claims.
