ICC Men’s T20 World Cup History: The first edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was played in South Africa in 2007. From then till the year 2024, nine editions of this tournament have been played. However, Team India was eliminated after losing to West Indies in the semi-finals. In the year 2024, Jasprit Bumrah troubled the batsmen throughout the tournament with his lethal bowling.

India defeated Pakistan by 5 runs in the final of the first T20 World Cup played in South Africa. In that match, Irfan Pathan bowled lethally, for which he was chosen ‘Player of the Match’. In that match, Pathan had scored three unbeaten runs, while with the ball he had taken three wickets for 16 runs in four overs. Pathan had dismissed Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi and Yasir Arafat.

In the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup against South Africa, Virat Kohli did wonders with the bat and Jasprit Bumrah with the ball. Virat Kohli was chosen ‘Player of the Match’ in the final, while Jasprit Bumrah was given the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award. In this way, two stars of India made the title win historic. Virat had played an innings of 76 runs in 59 balls in the final, while Bumrah had single-handedly turned the match. He took two wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs.
