Former Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan has now become the newly elected Vice President of the country. In the Vice Presidential election held on 9 September 2025, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Radhakrishnan won a big win by securing 452 votes. His full name is Chandrapuram Ponusami Radhakrishnan. He originally belongs to Tamil Nadu and his experience in politics is of many years.

Before being elected Vice President, CP Radhakrishnan has also served as the Governor of Jharkhand and Maharashtra. The central government appointed him as the Governor of Jharkhand on 18 February 2023, where he took responsibility for about one and a half years i.e. 30 July 2024. After this he became the Governor of Maharashtra. During this, he also took over the additional charge of the Governor of Telangana and Puducherry.

According to government rules, the post of under secretary comes in the matrix level-10. At this stage, their basic salary starts at Rs 56,100 per month. As the time of their service increases and the annual increment is available, the salary continues to increase. At this stage, the maximum salary can go up to about Rs 1,77,500 per month.

Earnings increase with allowances

The in-hand salary of the under secretary is not limited to basic only. It includes many types of allowances. DA (dearness allowance), HRA (House Rent Allowance), Transport Allowance and other government facilities are included.
