Received prize money from ICC for becoming world champion

The total prize money of the Women’s World Cup 2025 was kept at 13.88 million US dollars, which is around Rs 123 crore in Indian currency. Out of this prize money, Team India has received 4.48 million US dollars for winning the final, which is around Rs 40 crore. In this World Cup, ICC has given bumper prize money to the rest of the teams as well.

ICC increased the prize money in this World Cup four times as compared to the last Women’s World Cup played in 2022. The last World Cup was won by Australia, when the winning team was given around Rs 12 crore. Despite being the runner-up in this World Cup, South Africa has received prize money of around Rs 20 crore.

The prize money received by the Indian women’s team for winning the World Cup 2025 is more than the prize money received by the men in the 2023 World Cup. In 2023, Australia won the Men’s World Cup, which was played in India. In this final, India lost to Australia under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. The total prize money of that World Cup was Rs 89 crore. Whereas the total prize money of Women’s World Cup 2025 was kept at Rs 123 crore.

BCCI gave more reward than ICC

The Indian team has received around Rs 40 crore as prize money from ICC for winning the Women’s World Cup 2025. At the same time, BCCI has announced to give Rs 51 crore to Team India for winning the World Cup. This amount is for all the players, coaching staff and support staff of Team India. In this way, the Indian team has received a total of Rs 91 crore in prize money for becoming world champion.
