If you want to install a 3kW solar panel on the roof of your house. So know that the price of 3kW on grid rooftop solar system in 2026 generally ranges between Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2.2 lakh. This cost includes solar panels, inverter, mounting structure, wiring and installation.

Its price may vary slightly depending on the city, brand and installer. Many people install a larger system than necessary. Due to which the initial expenses increase. But for an average house whose consumption is 300 to 500 units, 3kW capacity is considered appropriate.
Will we get subsidy from the government in this also?
Under PM Suryaghar Yojana, subsidy is given according to different kilowatts. If someone wants to install a 3 kilowatt solar panel. So let us tell you that under the scheme, a maximum subsidy of up to Rs 78000 is available on systems of 3kW or larger. This amount is given directly to the beneficiary after verification.

To avail the subsidy, one has to apply on the authorized portal and the installation must be done from a certified vendor. After adding the subsidy, the cost of a 3kW system reduces significantly. Generally the total expenditure can come between Rs 82000 to Rs 1.2 lakh. This makes adopting solar more affordable for middle class families.
