Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli Play In The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26: There is great news for Indian domestic cricket that Team India’s legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be seen playing in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. Rohit Sharma has been included in the Mumbai squad and will be available for the team’s first two matches, this has been confirmed by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).
Former Team India captain Rohit Sharma will join the Shardul Thakur-led side in Jaipur, where Mumbai have been placed in elite Group C. Virat Kohli has confirmed his availability for the initial matches of Delhi. Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has included the star batsman in the team for the initial rounds. Where Rishabh Pant has been made the captain and Ayush Badoni has been made the vice-captain. Delhi’s matches will be played in Bengaluru.
Rohit-Virat will practice before New Zealand series
Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 is going to start from December 24, 2025. The league stage matches of this tournament will run till January 8, 2026, after which there will be knockout matches and the final will be played on January 18 in Bengaluru. After retirement from Test and T20, Rohit and Virat now play only ODI cricket for India. Rohit and Virat are playing this tournament for important match practice before the home ODI series against New Zealand starting from January 11, 2026.
How much money do you get for playing Vijay Hazare Trophy?
To play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, players get per match fees based on their List A experience. Players who play 41 or more List A matches get Rs 60,000, those who play 21-40 matches get Rs 50,000 and those who play 0-20 matches get Rs 40,000 per match. So reserve players are paid half of these amounts.
How much will Rohit-Virat earn from Vijay Hazare Trophy?
Team India’s star batsman Virat Kohli has played more than 40 List A matches, hence he will get Rs 60,000 per match. Virat can play three matches for Delhi, in such a situation he can earn a total of Rs 1.80 lakh in Vijay Hazare Trophy. The per match fee for Rohit Sharma will also be the same as for Virat. Rohit will play two matches for Mumbai, so he will earn Rs 1.20 lakh in this tournament.
