A military report by the Swiss think tank Center d’Histoire et de Prospective Militaires has revealed how the Indian Air Force had created an outcry in Pakistan. The Swiss report states that after the Pahalgam massacre, Pakistan got defeated by the Indian Air Force and was then forced to beg India for ceasefire.
Switzerland-based CHPM has published a detailed report titled ‘Operation Vermillion: The India-Pakistan Air War’. In this report, the bravery of the Indian Air Force has been praised and it has been told how India defeated Pakistan after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22 last year.
PAK had tried to target Srinagar
The report said that India attacked terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). The Pakistani Air Force tried to target Indian infrastructure on the night of 9–10 May, including air stations such as Adampur and Srinagar, and targets located 100–150 km from the LoC.
Indian Air Force blows up terrorist hideouts
The Indian Air Force targeted the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke through Rafale and Mirage-2000 aircraft. Despite PL-15 missiles fired by Pakistan and more than 900 drone attacks, India foiled most of the threats through S-400 and other defense systems. After losing its ability to retaliate, Pakistan requested for a ceasefire till the afternoon of 10 May, which was accepted by India.
Pakistan’s breathing had stopped due to the destruction of the runway.
On the morning of 10 May, India launched massive attacks on Pakistan’s airbases and radar centers with long-range missiles like BrahMos and SCALP-EG. Many fighter planes, radars and command centers of Pakistan were destroyed in this attack. Due to the destruction of the runway, the Pakistani Air Force became helpless and by afternoon Islamabad bowed down and started pleading for a ceasefire.
