To change address sitting at home, login to the National Voter Service Portal. If you don’t have an account, register first. On the homepage, select the option related to address correction or shifting and click on Form 8. Here you will have to fill your basic information like name, date of birth and voter details. After this select the option of change of residence.

If the new house is in the same assembly constituency. So select the relevant option and if the area is changed. So select the outside option. Then fill the state, district and constituency. Enter Aadhaar number, mobile and email. Upload new address document. Accept the declaration and submit the form. After the application is processed, your address will be updated in both the voter list and card.
These documents will be needed
Valid address proof is required for address update. Electricity, water or gas bill, Aadhaar card, bank or post office passbook, Indian passport, rent agreement or property related documents can be used. Provided that the new address is clearly recorded in them. After submitting the application, you can login to the same portal and track the status through the reference number.

With this you will know at what stage your application is. If due to some reason you are not able to complete the online process, you can apply offline by going to the nearest election office and filling Form 8. After completion of verification, the updated voter card will be sent to your address.
