The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) is a quasi-judicial body established to protect consumer rights in India. How to get a job in consumer forum

There are different posts available to get job in NCDRC and State/District Commissions. These include Judicial Assistant (Clerk), Accounts Officer, Accountant, Stenographer, Sub Registrar and other administrative posts. Judicial assistants or law clerks are for those who have completed law studies, and are hired for a fixed period of time. The posts of Accounts Officer and Accountant are made by deputation or direct recruitment based on service record, experience and sometimes written examination or interview. For higher posts like Member, professionals with 25 years of judicial or administrative experience are appointed through a selection committee. The process is almost the same in State and District Commissions, but for some higher posts, the requirement of written examination and oral examination is decided separately.

What is the minimum salary here?

The salary of employees in NCDRC is decided as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC). In which a law clerk or judicial assistant gets around Rs 50,000 per month. The salary of Accounts Officer ranges from Rs 44,900 to Rs 1,42,400 as per Level-7 and central allowances are also available with it. The salary of Accountant or Cashier ranges from Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400 as per Level-6. The member receives special pay and allowances as per the Tribunal Rules 2021. Apart from this, medical, travel and other central benefits are also given to all the employees.
