India-Rus Relation: American Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik said many important things about relations with India at the US India Strategic Partnership Forum, held at Washington DC. He expressed his praise for India and expressed the possibility of a trade agreement between India America soon.
Speaking from the stage, Howard Latnik said, “I am a big fan of India and people from the Government of India also know this. One of my best friends is Nikesh Arora Indian. When I went to India, we used to go to house parties, play cricket and enjoy a lot. The time spent in India has been a special experience for me.”
“Leaders like Modi and Trump rare in today’s world”
Lonik also commented on the relationship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump. He said, “Donald Trump is the only leader in our administration, which the people of all America chose, just as Narendra Modi has got the mandate of the whole country in India. There are very few leaders in the world which the people of their country have chosen on such a large scale. That is why his relationship is very strong and special.”
Deal may be done soon
US Commerce Secretary Howard Lanik said, “The countries who take quick steps get better deals. I think India is doing the same and I appreciate it. Earlier it used to take two-three years to form such compromises, but we are now trying to complete them in a month. A way has been found which is beneficial for both countries. “
“Business talks easier because of strong relationships”
Howard Lutnik also said that business talks between the two countries become easier due to strong political relations between Modi and Trump. He said, “When we start the conversation, the atmosphere is already positive. This leads to the conversation rapidly and the solution comes out quickly.”
