- According to reports, this new SUV of Mahindra can be built on the company’s new NU_IQ modular platform. The biggest feature of this platform is that it supports multi-powertrain. That means all types of engine options like petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric can be made on it. This will give Mahindra the freedom to launch multiple variants of the same SUV in the future. It is believed that this SUV will be launched under the XUV branding and its positioning will be in direct competition with Hyundai Creta.
Vision S concept will give you an idea of the design
- The design of this upcoming SUV from Mahindra may be inspired by the Vision S concept, which the company recently showcased during the Independence Day event. The look of Vision S concept was quite bold and powerful. Mahindra’s new Twin Peaks logo, sharp LED lights and strong SUV style were seen in its front. The high ground clearance, wide stance and big tires give it the look of a true SUV. However, it is believed that some concept elements will be made a little soft and practical in the production model.
You will get premium experience in the cabin
- The interior of the Vision S concept clearly indicates that Mahindra will not compromise on features in its new SUV. It featured a new multi-function steering wheel, large touchscreen infotainment system and wireless smartphone connectivity. Along with this, panoramic sunroof and dual-tone cabin theme give a premium feel to the SUV. The fuel cap visible in the concept also makes it clear that this will be an SUV with ICE engine, which is expected to be available in both petrol and diesel options.
Launch timeline and competition
- According to reports related to the auto industry, this new mid-size SUV of Mahindra can be launched in the Indian market by the year 2027. After launch, it will compete directly with SUVs like Hyundai Creta and the upcoming Tata Sierra. Mahindra’s strong brand name, experience in making SUVs and new design can make it a big player in this segment.
