India’s sub-4 meter SUV segment is becoming increasingly exciting. Now in this category, not only looks or mileage, but technology, features and safety also play a big role. The recently launched Hyundai Venue 2025 and the already popular Tata Nexon are the two strongest contenders in this segment. So let us know which of these two SUVs can prove to be better for you.

who is better in price

  • In terms of price, Tata Nexon is slightly cheaper and more accessible. The ex-showroom price of Nexon ranges from Rs 7.32 lakh to Rs 14.15 lakh, while the price of Hyundai Venue ranges from Rs 7.90 lakh to Rs 15.69 lakh. The top variants of the Venue come with more premium features, such as a dual 12.3-inch screen setup, Bose sound system, voice-controlled sunroof and level-2 ADAS, while the Nexon attracts customers with its robust design and 5-star safety rating.

Design and size

  • The length of both the SUVs is 3,995mm, but their design impact is different. The width of Nexon is 1,804mm and ground clearance is 208mm, which makes it look more muscular and rough. On the other hand, the design of Venue is sharp and compact, which proves to be better for driving in cities. If you drive on rough roads, the ground clearance of Nexon will be beneficial.

Engine and Performance

  • Hyundai Venue has three engine options – 1.2L petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel. Of these, the diesel engine comes with automatic transmission, which is rarely seen in this segment. At the same time, Tata Nexon has two engines – 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel, out of which the diesel engine gives more torque of 260Nm. Turbo-CNG version of Nexon has also arrived, which makes it more economical.

Nexon diesel leads in mileage

  • In fuel efficiency, Nexon diesel AMT claims 24.08 kmpl, while Venue diesel gives 20.99 kmpl. Venue is slightly ahead in petrol variants and gives mileage up to 20 kmpl. The mileage of Nexon CNG reaches around 25 km/kg, which makes it a low-cost option.

Features and Technology

  • Venue 2025 has an edge over Nexon in terms of technology. It has features like dual 12.3-inch screen, Bose sound system, ventilated seats and ambient lighting. The Nexon is also quite practical with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, JBL sound system, wireless charging and touch HVAC controls. The cabin of the Venue feels more modern, while the build quality and driving comfort of the Nexon make it stronger.

Safety

  • Talking about safety, Nexon is counted among the safest SUVs in India, as it has received 5-star rating in both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP. Level-2 ADAS is now provided in Venue 2025, which includes features like lane keep assist, smart cruise control, collision alert and driver attention warning. Along with this, 6 airbags, ESC and tire pressure monitoring system are also available.
