Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav said after a six -wicket victory over Pakistan in the Super four -phase match of the Asia Cup T20 cricket tournament on Sunday that the team has made their work easier with their performance. Chasing Pakistan’s 172 -run target, India won by scoring 174 runs for four wickets thanks to a 105 -run partnership of the first wicket between Abhishek Sharma (74 runs, 39 balls, six fours, five sixes) and Shubman Gill (47 runs, 28 balls, eight fours). Tilak Verma also played an unbeaten 30 -run innings in 19 balls with two sixes and two fours.
Pakistan earlier scored 171 runs for five wickets with the help of opener Sahibzada Farhan’s innings of five fours and three sixes in 45 balls.
For India, Shivam Dubey took two wickets for 33 runs while Hardik Pandya (one wicket for 29 runs) and Kuldeep Yadav (one wicket for 31 runs) took one wicket each.
Indian team did not lose patience
Suryakumar said that despite Pakistan’s good start, the Indian team did not lose patience. He said, “I am happy with the way the team is moving ahead. This is making my work easier. The team did not lose patience after the first 10 overs (when Pakistan scored 91 runs). I told the team during the drinks that the game now starts. ”
Shivam Dubey is not a robot
Suryakumar appreciated Shivam Dubey and said, “Shivam Dubey is not a robot. Someday his day will also be bad but the way he makes a comeback, he is happy. ”
On the opening pair of Gill and Abhishek, Suryakumar said, “Shubman and Abhishek are a combination of fire and snow. They are complementary to each other and it is fun to see them batting together. Somebody needed to bat 10-12 overs to chase the target. ”
Statement of statement on leaving catch
On dripping several catches by the players, he said, “Killardhan coach T Dileep has emailed all the boys for leaving the catch. They will fix things. ”
Abhishek, who became man of the match for his aggressive innings, said that Pakistan players were trying to dominate India and he responded to his aggression with his bat.
‘I did not like the way Pakistan was getting aggressive’
He said, “The way they (Pakistani players) were becoming aggressive on us, I did not like it at all and this was the only way to answer them.”
On the partnership with Gill, he said, “I have been playing with Shubman since school days and have been waiting for such partnership with him for a long time. It is important for the team that play the way we play and I am able to play in such an aggressive way because the team is encouraging me to play like this, knowing that there is a lot of risk.
We are unlikely to play well- Salman Aga
Pakistan captain Salman Aga admitted that his team had failed to play their best game and the Indian batsmen put the match out of his grip in power play itself.
He said, “Pakistan has not been able to show its best game yet. Indian batsmen made the match away from our grip in power play. ”
Salman said, “After scoring 91 runs in 10 overs, we could have scored 15 runs but the score of 171 was still good. (Haris) Rauf and Faheem (Ashraf) bowled well. We are now waiting for the match against Sri Lanka. ”
