Union Budget 2026: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the general budget for the financial year 2026-27 today on 1 February. This will be his ninth consecutive budget. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said this

On Union Budget 2026, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that everyone is waiting to hear what the Finance Minister announces. He said that the economic survey has predicted good economic growth, but the real question is whether employment will also be created with this growth. Shashi Tharoor said that growth without employment does not benefit anyone. He stressed that it will be important to see what plans the government has to generate more employment for the youth of the country. Along with this, he said that elections are coming in Kerala and everyone will keep an eye on what benefits the central government provides there.

Akhilesh Yadav took aim

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, while targeting the government, said that what should be expected from the budget of a government from which there is no hope. He said that this budget is made only for 5 percent of the people and raised the question whether the government has lived up to the promises made in its manifesto or not.

‘There are very serious and sensitive challenges in the economy’

Congress MP Manish Tewari said, “There are very serious and sensitive challenges in the Indian economy. Nominal GDP has been declining for the last decade. Private investment is not happening. GDA is not coming. It is expected that the Finance Minister will accept this and make a roadmap on this.”
